Megalomania, The Freud’s Patient

cat lion

Megalomania is a psychopathological disorder characterized by delusional fantasies of power, relevance, or omnipotence. ‘Megalomania is characterized by an inflated sense of self-esteem and overestimation by persons of their powers and beliefs’

~ Wikipedia

I found this terminology when I typed ‘seeking other’s attention’. It drove me to Yahoo answer, then Wikipedia. It’s one of the men’s characteristic which become a research of Sigmund Freud.

If we break it, this word is consist of two part : megalo from Greek means great, and mania, means madness. Different kind of narcissism.

Having a friend like this, is like nightmare. They will sacrifice you, eventhough you are their friend, for their own purpose of publicity or popularity. They will do anything to grab other attention, whatever the way.

How to heal them. No need. Look at this statement at Wikipedia :

Unfortunately, ‘a person with megalomania may not be interested in self-reflection or personal change’, so the talking cures may be less effective than medication.

Oh, better to go away from them….

Komen? Silakan^^
